On the 3rd of September, the Islamophobic, racist and frankly obnoxious group the English Defence league thought that they’d come to Tower Hamlets, East London where the largest Muslim community in the UK resides to march against “militant Islam”. Luckily the EDL were kept away from the East London Mosque and from the anti-fascist protesters. Throughout the year I will be committed to facilitating a contingent of LSE students to attend counter demos for racist groups like the EDL, as I believe racist should be opposed whereever and whenever they decide to gather.
